PRIVACY STATEMENT

Rieter Holding AG and each of its subsidiaries and companies (hereinafter referred to as "Rieter") are aware that the security of your personal data is an important issue when using the Rieter website. Rieter takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. Personal data includes all information that identifies you (hereinafter referred to as "personal data").

This privacy statement provides information about which data Rieter collects and how Rieter uses and protects the collected data. It applies to any personal data that Rieter processes.

If the purposes and means of this processing are specified by Union or Member States law, the Controller or the specific criteria for his appointment may be provided for under Union or Member States law.

"Processing" refers to any process or series of processes carried out with or without the help of automated procedures relating to personal data, such as the collection, recording, organization, ordering, storage, adaptation or modification, reading, querying, use, disclosure through transmission, dissemination or any other form of provision, comparison or linking, restriction, deletion or destruction.

B. Collection of data

You can use the Rieter website without actively disclosing personal data. The active provision of personal data is not a requirement for using the Rieter website unless personal data are required for the supply of products or services on request. Nevertheless, Rieter collects certain data automatically or without your input from or about you in the course of normal visits to our website. The servers may automatically gather information such as "website usage information" as described below. Rieter (or Rieter’s service providers) may also use cookies and other tracking technologies (such as pixels, beacons and tags) to collect, store and track information about your site usage. The data collected from or about you automatically or without your input could lead to the identification of your person. However, Rieter will not use the data for this purpose.

In addition, you can provide personal data in various forms for requesting and receiving information about products and services. Such personal data will be used in all cases, based on your consent, to fulfill your request (e.g. placing an inquiry or an order, subscribing to newsletters, customer magazines, media releases, business reports, customer surveys, etc.).

Even if Rieter were able to combine the data provided by you with the data collected automatically or without the input from you, Rieter will not do so. Concerning the personal data that you provide (e.g. for products or services you have requested or for other purposes authorized by you), Rieter relies on technical and organizational means to ensure compliance with the applicable data security regulations.

C. Processing / transfer of personal data

The personal data collected according to the Section “Collection of data” remain with data processors or on servers acting on behalf of Rieter and for which Rieter is responsible. Rieter or its representatives will not pass on any personal data collected from you in any form for own use by third parties unless Rieter has received your prior consent or is legally obliged to do so. One exception to this concerns data collected from you on the Rieter website without your input by using cookies from third parties and related technologies. Third-party providers of cookies / related technologies may use your personal data for their own purposes and transfer such data to other jurisdictions (see the Section "Notes on cookies" by Rieter).

Rieter retains control of and responsibility for the use of all personal data processed by Rieter. Some of this information may be stored or processed on computers located in other jurisdictions, such as the United States where privacy laws may differ from the ones in the jurisdiction in which you live. In such cases, Rieter ensures that appropriate protective measures are in place.

D. Purposes of use / legal basis

The personal data you intentionally submit to Rieter will only be used for the purpose for which you provided such data (e.g. to supply requested products or services or for other purposes for which you have given your consent) unless otherwise required by law. The data collected from or about you automatically or without your input is occasionally used for statistical or other purposes (also by third-party providers of cookies and / or related technologies). When processing your personal data, we rely on your consent or we process your personal data to fulfill a contract, to comply with legal requirements or to safeguard our legitimate interests.

E. Security

Rieter uses technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized people. All personal data you provide to Rieter via the website are transmitted in encrypted form to prevent any misuse by third parties. Rieter's security measures are continuously reviewed and improved in the light of new technological developments.

F. Right to information, correction, deletion or restriction of processing, right to object to processing, right to data portability

Subject to applicable personal data privacy laws, you have the right to request from the controller (1) access to and (2) rectification or (3) deletion of your personal data or (4) restriction of the processing of your personal data, and you may (5) object to the processing of your personal data. You also have the right to (6) data portability.

G. Right to withdraw your consent at any time

You have the right to withdraw your consent to the future processing of your personal data at any time. However, this withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent given before the withdrawal.

H. Data storage

Rieter stores personal data only for the period needed to provide the service you have requested or to which you have given your consent unless otherwise stipulated by law (e.g. in the case of a pending legal dispute). I. Right to complain to a supervisory authority

If you reside in the EU, you may have the right to complain to a supervisory authority if you do not consent to the processing of your personal data.

This notice sets out Rieter's policies for data collected by cookies and locally shared objects from users and / or visitors to the websites, Rieter applications and other services on which this notice on cookies is posted.

Essential (indispensable) cookies

Rieter’s website only sets essential cookies to save the user's cookie settings and enable editors to access the backend.

 

Analysis and marketing cookies

These cookies allow Rieter to count visits and traffic sources to measure and improve the performance of the website. They help Rieter establish a ranking of visited pages and see how visitors navigate the website. All data collected by these cookies are aggregated and are therefore anonymous. YouTube

Rieter uses YouTube, a service from Google, Inc., USA, to show its latest product videos. The videos can be played on the website. As long as you are watching videos on the Rieter website, no data will be transmitted to Google. However, when you open YouTube after leaving the Rieter website, YouTube may collect and process personal data. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be assigned to your account. If you do not want the data to be assigned, make sure that you log out of YouTube beforehand.

Rieter uses this service from Youku Tudou, Inc., a subsidiary of Alibaba Group Holding Limited, to show its latest product videos on the Chinese website. The videos can be played on the website. However, when you open YouKu after leaving the Rieter website, YouKu may collect and process personal data.

Newsletter

Rieter uses Mailchimp (a service from The Rocket Science Group, LLC, USA) and EQS Cockpit (a service from EQS Group AG, Munich, Germany) to distribute Rieter News (newsletters, media releases, etc.). When registering and confirming to receive Rieter News (double opt-in), the following personal data are processed: surname, first name, e-mail, language, country, company.

The data are processed to authenticate the person at the time of registration, send Rieter News to that person and determine if and when that person has opened these publications, including individual articles contained therein. This also allows us to divide recipients into different categories.

The processing of this data requires your consent. You can revoke this consent at any time, for example by using the unsubscribe link in the Rieter News. Data processing operations already carried out remain unaffected by the revocation. For further information, please contact Mailchimp or EQS. If you do not want any analysis to take place, you must unsubscribe from Rieter News.

How to control cookies

Rieter respects your right to privacy: You are free to block certain types of cookies. You can change the settings at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer. You can also manage your cookie privacy settings in your browser. You can control and / or delete cookies as you wish. This Privacy Notice Applicant informs you how Rieter Holding AG and each of its affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively “Rieter”; in the following also “we” and “us”) processes personal data we receive from you via our online application tool or in other form or from a third party during the application process. Further information on the processing of personal data, in particular in case you are visiting our website, can be found in the Privacy Statement and the Cookie Notice on our website. This Privacy Notice Applicant may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our privacy practices.

A. Terms

“Personal data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“data subject”); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.


“Controller” means the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.

B. Personal data we process

The personal data we process includes, but is not limited to:

Personal details and contact information, including your name(s), title, government issued identifiers, mobile and/or home phone number, e-mail address, home address, citizenship/nationality/residency, marital status, date of birth, age.

Personal images, including photographic images, video and audio recordings (if voluntary added by you).

Recruitment information, including CV and cover letter, degrees, academic records, licenses/professional membership, certifications/awards, right to work and work permit information, information concerning your application and our assessment of it, any checks we may make to verify information provided or background checks, and third party reference information.

To the extent required or permitted by applicable law, we may also process certain sensitive personal data about you in the context of the recruitment process, in particular information about your gender, race or ethnicity and about any criminal offences if you are applying for a role that requires a criminal record check according to applicable law.

We may also obtain certain of the personal data listed above from third-party sources such as recruiting agencies and background screening providers who may gather this data from you or public sources.

Please be informed that you will receive an email confirmation if you have applied online. When applying you give your consent that we will inform and/or contact you in writing or by telephone.

C. Processing purposes; legal grounds

We process your personal data for the purpose of evaluating and assessing your experience and qualifications relating to the relevant job position, to manage the recruitment process, administer the online career portal and carry out background and pre-employment checks. If your application is successful, we will also process your personal data to make you an offer and for onboarding purposes.

We process your personal data for these purposes on the basis that it is necessary for entering into an employment contract or for our legitimate interests such as managing our business and recruiting staff, perusing and defending claims as well as complying with our policies and procedures.

In addition, we process your personal data to the extent it is necessary for compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, such as record-keeping and reporting obligations.

You are not under an obligation to provide personal data to us, but if you do not provide information to us that is customarily required in an application, we may not be able to proceed with your application.

D. Parties who may have access to your personal data

Your personal data will only be accessed by authorized persons of Rieter, such as members of Group HR and local HR as well the respective superiors for the specific job position. We may share your personal data with third parties who perform services on our behalf, including hosting providers and background screening providers. In such case any processor will be contractually obliged to only process personal data as directed and to implement adequate technical and organizational measures in order to safeguard the security of your personal data and to keep personal data confidential.

In addition, we may disclose your personal data if we are required or permitted to do so by law, in case of legal or regulatory proceedings and, when disclosure is necessary for pursuing our legitimate interests.

Some of the personal data may be stored or processed at computers located in other jurisdictions, whose data protection laws may differ from the jurisdiction you live or of the Rieter company at which you applied for a job position. Rieter will ensure that appropriate protections are in place.

E. Security

Rieter uses technical and organizational security precautions to protect your personal data from manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. Any personal data that is provided to Rieter by you will be encrypted in transit to prevent its possible misuse by third parties. Rieter’s security procedures are continuously revised based on new technological developments.

G. Right of access to, rectification, erasure or restriction of processing, right to object to processing, right to data portability

Subject to applicable data protection regulation you may have the right to request (1) access to and (2) rectification or (3) erasure of your personal data or (4) restriction of processing of your personal data as well as you can (5) object to the processing of your personal data. H. Right to withdraw consent at any time

You have the right at any time to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data for the future. For clarifications sake such withdrawal will, however, not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. Just send an e-mail to HRdataprivacy(at)rieter.com.

I. Retention of personal data

We will keep your personal data only as long as necessary for the above mentioned purposes. Should we not be able to consider your job application we will generally delete your personal data after 6 months or as foreseen by local law. In case we receive your consent to add your personal data to our application tool for possible future open job positions, we will keep your personal data for no longer than 12 months or as foreseen by local law. We may keep your personal for a longer period where otherwise provided by law or e.g. in case of a pending litigation.

J. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

If you are based in the EU you might have in addition the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in case you do not agree with the processing of your personal data.
